Temple & Family History Newsletter #2 – February 27, 2024
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- The temple is beginning to get busier. Appointments are highly recommended in ALL ordinance areas. Those with appointments will be given priority and then if there is room available in an ordinance, walk-ins may attend. We encourage you to make appointments. It will eliminate possible frustration for you as things continue to become busier at the temple.
UPCOMING EVENTS - This year our ward temple day is on the third Tuesday of each month. Each individual will need to make their own appointment. We suggest you make your appointment in advance to ensure that space is available at the designated session. If you cannot attend a session, we encourage you to attend an
ordinance of your choice sometime during that day. The ward temple day for the end of the first quarter of 2024 will be as follows:

Please arrive 30 minutes before the session begins. - Our next scheduled sealing opportunity will be April 16, 2024. We have scheduled appointments at 6:00 pm, 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm. A sign-up sheet will be passed in church as we get closer to the date.
- RootsTech 2024 is almost here. It is being held in person and online February 29-March 2. There is still time to register and be ready to access the classes when they start on Thursday. The online registration is free. You can watch most of the 200+ new online classes at your leisure, and they are filled with helpful information no matter what your experience level is. There is also a feature that allows you to connect with relatives that have also registered for RootsTech 2024. You can register at rootstech.org. We hope you will attend and enhance your knowledge and expertise in Family History.
Ongoing program to have youth help with BAPTISMS & CONFIRMATIONS
Thanks to our great youth leaders, the youth in the ward make 2-3 trips a year to the temple to do baptisms and confirmations. There are times when they could help other ward members by taking their cards and doing the work. This program worked wonderfully last year, and we will continue with it this year. A reminder of how the program works:
1 month before the youth go, if you have baptisms and confirmations needing to be done, give them to Gary or Ruth Ann Chambers. They will keep track of what you give them.
They will coordinate with the youth leaders and get your cards to them.
The youth will take them to the temple and do as many names as they can.
Names not done will be returned to you by the Chambers.
- The Temple and Family History committee is working on a presentation to give to the adults in the ward. This will likely take place on the 5 th Sunday in June. Stay tuned. It will be excellent.
