Temple & Family History Newsletter #6 – August 17, 2024

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Some adjustments have been made to the Endowment Session at the Temple. The session is shorter. Hopefully, it will allow more members to attend and focus on this magnificent work of Gathering Israel. As an on-going reminder, Appointments are highly recommended in ALL ordinance areas. We encourage you to make appointments. It will eliminate possible frustration for you as things continue to become busier at the temple. If you are having trouble making appointments or need help, contact Gary or Ruth Ann Chambers.

    • MESSAGES FROM OUR WARD LEADERS
Responsibility for Temple & Family History efforts in the ward are under the direction of the Elders Quorum President and the Relief Society President. They have shared some thoughts and insights with us in this Newsletter.
“This week, my wife and I had the opportunity to go to the Logan Temple and help with the cleaning assignment. It was a really neat experience, and we were able to help vacuum, dust, and do some disinfecting. The temple workers were very nice to help us and give us gentle reminders on what we were supposed to be doing. It was a very peaceful experience and reminded me that there are lots of different ways to experience the temple. Helping with the ordinances inside the temple, being a temple worker, submitting names online for the prayer roll, sitting on the beautiful temple grounds outside the temple, and occasionally getting the opportunity to help clean. My kids have also enjoyed going over to
the Smithfield Temple as a family and just driving around the outside and watching the progress of the temple as it is being built. We are so blessed to have temples so close to us.” -Richard Stevens

” We have all been encouraged to do our family history work. Some of us are better at it than others, but most of us have the desire to help in our Heavenly Father’s work. When we think of the joy, peace and comfort that are in our lives because of our Savior and the covenants that we have made, it is easier to act upon that desire. I am so thankful that I can be a small part of bringing others the opportunity of making those sacred covenants. It not only blesses their lives but mine also. His plan is so perfect.” -Brenda Milne

We continue to see more of our ward members involved in this great work. Surely signs all around us point to these being the latter days. Have blessed we are to live now and to have the opportunity to help Gather Israel.
Thanks to all.

“I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE…”
