Temple & Family History Newsletter #9 –September 7, 2023
UPCOMING EVENTS

  1. New Logan Family Search Center. I recently visited the new Family Search Center and all I can say is, “WOW! WOW! WOW! It is wonderful and has everything. For we ‘oldie goldies’ in the ward, we can take down all our old films, negatives, reel to reel sound tapes, slides, etc. etc. etc. and they can be loaded on to thumb drives. The Center opened on August 28th and will have a grand opening on September 22-23 rd . The center is well staffed and they are learning the
many new aspects themselves, so be patient with them. The following information will help you:
    Logan Family Search Center
    165 East 2200 North, Suite B
    North Logan, Utah 84341
    435-755-5594
See item #6 below for the CHALLENGE IDEA for this month and additional information on the center and hours of operation.
  2. Our ward temple day is normally on the third Wednesday of each month. Each individual will need to make their own appointment. We suggest you make your appointment in advance to ensure that space is available at the designated session. A NOTE ON WARD TEMPLE DAY. The purpose of the ward temple day is to help us consider regular temple attendance. If you cannot attend the temple on ward temple day or time, we encourage you to attend an ordinance of your choice sometime during the month. The ward temple day for the third quarter of 2023 will be as follows:
    Date Endowment Session Time
    September 20 6:30 pm
Please arrive 30 minutes before the session begins.
  3. Our next sealing opportunity is scheduled for September 27th. We have reserved slots in the 6:30 PM, 6:45 PM, and 7:00 PM sessions. A sign-up sheet will be passed around in church on the 17th and 24th.
For more information contact Maurine Grover.
  4. REMINDER – The Baptism & Confirmation activity with the youth continues to be a huge success. There are times when they can help other ward members by taking their cards and doing the work for baptisms and confirmations. The following guidelines apply throughout the summer months. If you need help getting baptisms and confirmations completed, contact Gary or Ruth Ann
Chambers. They will keep track of what you give them. They will coordinate with the youth leaders and get your cards to them. The youth will take them to the temple and do as many names as they can. Names not done will be returned to you by the Chambers.
  5. Report on our temple activity for August. This is the area that is most exciting to me. We continue to increase the number of ward members submitting names to the temple. This has grown each month and continues to do so. This is a measurement of having ordinances performed for our ancestors.
  6. There continues to be a decline in Indexing. With the busy summer coming to an end, we encourage you to devote time to this most important work.
