Ward Temple & Family History Newsletter #1 – January 13, 2023

Hope you all made it through the holidays. Last month we sent out the ward Temple & Family
History plan for 2023 as approved by the committee and the Bishopric. You can review that
plan in our ward bulletin area.

  1. Endowment Sessions are now back to the maximum attendee level of 92.
  2. The temple is beginning to get busier. As many of you know, appointments are no longer
needed for ordinances. HOWEVER, they are highly recommended. Those with appointments
will be given priority and then if there is room available in an ordinance, walk-ins may attend.
We encourage you to make appointments. It will eliminate possible frustration for you as
things continue to become busier at the temple.
  3. The temple will be closed for cleaning starting February 13 th and reopens on February 28 th
  4. Our ward temple day is on the third Wednesday of each month. Each individual will need to make
their own appointment. We suggest you make your appointment in advance to ensure that room is
available at the designated session. If you cannot attend the session, we encourage you to attend an
ordinance of your choice sometime during that day. The ward temple day schedule will be as follows for
    the first quarter of 2023.
    Date Endowment Session Time
    January 18 6:30 pm
February 8 6:30 pm (This is the second Wednesday for this month)
    March 15 6:30 pm
Please arrive 30 minutes before the session begins.
  5. Our next ward sealing appointment will be on February 8th. We have scheduled sessions at 6:15pm,
6:45pm, and 7:00pm. A sign-up sheet will be passed around in church as we get closer to the actual
date. These have been wonderfully attended in the past.
  6. RootsTech is now open for registration. You can register by going to
www.familysearch.org/rootstech. In their opening comments, we read: “A family history conference.
An on-demand learning library. A way to grow closer to the people, places, and stories that matter most.
RootsTech is all that and so much more. Join us as we celebrate the joy of connection together.”
Just follow the registration information on their homepage. If attending virtually, it is free. Don’t miss
    this great annual opportunity.

 Indexing numbers are down 9% over last year. Please give it a try. It is greatly beneficial
for those seeking family lines. Those doing indexing in the ward increased by 7
 There has been a 6% increase in members logging into Family Search for various
reasons. This is exciting.
 There has been a 22% increase in the number of names that have been submitted for
temple work.
Thank you for being part of the Gathering of Israel. May the Lord bless you in your efforts.
